Psychological Support - Fees and Rebates

All sessions are 50 minutes. The fee is $200 per session. You may be eligible for a rebate, as listed below.

Medicare Better Access to Mental Health referrals from General Practitioners (GPs) and Psychiatrists

The current Medicare rebate for 50-minute session is $101.55.  Only one rebate can be claimed per day.  Payment of the full fee is expected at the time of your appointment. The Medicare rebate is processed online on the same day of your appointment, and will go into your bank account that is linked with Medicare.

If you have a GP referral, please ask your GP to send your referral via the secure platform Medical Objects to Ingrid Schults (Provider #471039BL) or via efax (+61 7 3112 3912). If a referral is not received in advance of your first appointment, please make sure you bring it along on the day to be eligible for your rebate.

The availability of Bulk Bill appointments is very limited due to high costs of providing a psychology service. Requests for Bulk Billing will be considered on a case-by-case basis and only for clients who receive a Centrelink payment as their primary source of income.

Please note if you have Private Health Insurance and a Medicare referral you cannot use private health to pay the gap for a Medicare-subsidised appointment. You can choose whether to use your Private Health insurance or your GP referral for your rebate.

NDIS referrals

Self-managed and plan-managed NDIS referrals are accepted and are charged at $200 for a 50-minute session. A higher fee may be charged if additional reporting and administration are required.

Workcover and Comcare referrals

Confidence Psychology accepts Workcover or ComCare referrals. Your Workcover or ComCare client number and relevant details (e.g., your case Manager’s name and contact number) are required at the time of booking so that your appointments can be scheduled to meet your approved requirements.

Telehealth Appointments

Video and Phone appointments are available. Please indicate this at the time of booking.  For a Telehealth session, your payment will be processed at the end of the session, using a credit card or bank transfer. If you have a GP referral, Medicare rebates are processed into your bank account after your session.

*The recommended fee for an AAPi Psychologist is $340. Please note that my fees are well below this, as I want to make mental health support available to as many people as possible.
